Non-linear plot and different endings: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will get mod support

One of the main features of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be a non-linear story that will develop in a living open world.

The PR-manager of GSC Game World Zakhar Bocharov spoke about this in the podcast "Not brought" — in the same place, he announced the support for mods in the game.

According to Bocharov, the developers S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 focused on single player campaign.

The authors want to make a game that fans would play through several times to open up more variations of the plot.

PR manager GSC Game World added that the open world will also work for the story, including thanks to the A-Life 2.0 life simulation system — it generates events even without user intervention.

In addition, Bocharov explained the choice of Unreal Engine for the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

Employees GSC Game World declared the X-Ray engine obsolete, and the product Epic Games turned out to be convenient, including for implementing mod support.

The authors of the action plan to add the ability to bring custom content to the PC version at release and are already considering options for bringing these features to the console edition.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has not yet received an exact release date for — expected to release in 2021 on Xbox Series X and PC.

Earlier, the authors of the action promised that the title would be more stable on release than the original «S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky».
